About This Cichlid Variety
These are gorgeous, purple and yellow elongated cichlids. The yellow blaze, that forms on the top of the head and extends to the tail, is beautiful. Another name for these beautiful haps are Z-rocks, short for Zimbabwe rocks. The literature says that they get 6 to 7 inches but we have seen them as large as 9 inches. They are described as mildly aggressive omnivores that have a temperature range of 74 to 84°F and a pH of 7.4 and 8.4. Hard water.
