About This Cichlid Variety
Tangerine Tigers are quite sought after in the haplochromis cichlid trade. There are plenty of breeders out there however, you do not see them in the pet stores very often. One of the issues we see is that it takes time for them to develop their colors. Most hobbyist do not want to wait for them to color up, however, if you are willing to wait, the reward is great! Described as a mildly aggressive omnivore. They can reach the size of 8 to 9 inches. They like hard water with temperature ranges from 74 to 84°F with a pH slightly higher at 7.8 to 8.6.
