About This Cichlid Variety
The Taiwan reef is one of the most colorful of all the African cichlids. Starting with the white blaze that forms across the top of the head, changing colors to blue face, and then sort of a greenish tone behind the gill plate, and then back to blue again and ending with the red tail is unique to this cichlid. They are described as a mildly aggressive omnivore that grow to about 8 or 9 inches. They have also been described by many customers as the tank boss. Their temperature ranges 74 to 84°F with a pH of 7.4 and 8.4 and hard waters.
