About This Cichlid Variety
The Mdoka White Lips is one of the most sought after Haplochromis cichlid. What is unique to them is their deep blue body and clearly distinct white lips. Both male and female look the same. As these fish mature, the male will get a deeper blue than the female, and when the male is very large, his lips actually take on a pink tone. They are found in Lake Malawi in deep rocky habitats. They are described as Omnivores that are more peaceful and get around 8 or 9 inches. Their temperature ranges are 74 to 84°F with a pH of 7.4 and 8.4. They are also maternal mouthbrooders.
